Yeast Free Recipe: Chickpea Chasni (Fakeaway)

I posted this up on my Instagram and I thought I’d share this amazing recipe with you.

It is so easy to make and absolutely delicious!

Ingredients:

  • Chickpeas (or chicken)
  • Onion
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp dried coriander
  • 1/2 tsp chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 20ml water
  • 150g chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp mango chutney
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsp mint sauce
  • Fry Light

Method

  1. Pulse the onion, chilli and ginger in a blender to make a paste.
  2. Spray a pan with Fry Light and add the paste and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add the chopped tomatoes, mango chutney, ketchup, mint sauce and remainder of the spices and cook for a further 5 minutes.
  4. Add the tinned chickpeas and cook for a further 3-4 minutes frequently stirring.

Enjoy hot with a poppadom or two and voila!

NB: Amend measurements dependent on portion size.

If cooking chicken or another meat, cook the meat first and add the sauce to the pan.
